About The film

When a driven executive’s procedure collides with the biggest meeting of her career, she spirals into a nightmarish blur as the lines between boardroom ambition and bodily autonomy collapse in a world that punishes both.

The term Hysteria originated from the greek word "hystera" meaning uterus. In Ancient Egypt, it was first established as a diagnosis for women who were exhibiting emotional behaviors related to stress and anxiety. For a millenia, the "disorder's" medically prescribed treatments included nonconsensual pelvic massage, sex, marriage, hysterectomy and lobotomy. As late as 1979, Hysteria was still considered a valid diagnosis. By 1980, the term was rendered obsolete in the medical community acknowledging it's sexist origin and lack of basis.

However, this inequality remains quietly embedded in the fabric of our society. It shapes our workplaces, families, and communities alike. Women are still required to navigate invisible constraints and risks that uniquely complicate ambition, personal well-being, and safety in ways men are rarely asked to consider.

This film aims to showcase those power structures not necessarily as villains with faces, but as machines that grind forward regardless of human cost.
